Sagrada Família opening hours in 2026
The basilica is open every day, and the hours depend on the season. From April to September it closes at 20:00 on weekdays, in March and October at 19:00, and from November to February at 18:00. On Saturdays it closes at 18:00 all year. On Sundays it opens at 10:30, not 9:00.
No regular closed days are listed. The management can change the hours for events in the basilica, so check your ticket and the official calendar before you go. Tickets are sold online only, for a fixed time slot. See the tickets page for prices and rules.

Quiet hour: since 2 February 2026 the hour from 9:00 to 10:00 is a quiet hour every day. Audio is allowed only with headphones, and silence is expected inside the basilica.
Clearing: the basilica is cleared 15 minutes before closing. If your slot is in the last hour, you will have less time than the opening hours suggest.
Last entry: no last-entry time is published. Your ticket is for a fixed time slot, and if you arrive late, you will not be let in. Do not count on getting in just before closing.

Events and weather closures
The management can change the hours because of events inside the basilica. Events in 2026 include a short story award on 20 November at 18:30 and a Christmas concert on 23 December at 19:00, with the Nativity facade lit. For more events, check the website for the 2026 anniversary programme. For the international mass on Sundays at 9:00 and on Saturday evenings, see the mass page.
Closures because of weather do happen. On 3 and 4 October 2026 the basilica closed for this reason. The towers can also close on their own in bad weather, and a refund is not guaranteed. Look at the forecast and at the official site on the day, and keep a flexible plan.
How the hours affect your plan
The changeover on 1 November matters if you travel at the end of October. Until 31 October the basilica closes at 19:00 on weekdays and Sundays and at 18:00 on Saturdays. From 1 November every day closes at 18:00, and in winter the evening light is gone early. In summer the long opening hours give you more choice of slots, but they are also the busiest months according to independent sources.
On Sundays the basilica opens at 10:30, so there is no early quiet slot that day. On the days around Christmas and New Year, with opening from 9:00 to 14:00, the afternoon is closed entirely. The foundation does not publish crowd statistics, so early and late slots are only a rule of thumb for calmer visits. If you want to match your slot to the stained glass, see inside the Sagrada Família.
